I really appreciate you taken the time to look into this issue as well as your suggestions.
Unfortunately they also do not work in my original database. I used the "Delete" context menu item to fully delete the "About" document and I re-created one from new where I didn't use tables. I also tried to hide the computed text and the button not based on a value gathered from a profile field but on a @DbLookup from a field of a configuration document, which is not a profile. I also tried with @True instead this formula and the 2 items won't hide.
Due to the fact that the database works smoothly with all its other features I don't think I should consider that it is entirely corrupt. On the other side it would take me too much time to re-design it from scratch because it has too many features. And even if the database was initially designed in the R5 version I don't consider too much expected that it works after all the server and client upgrades since this time like all other databases to be used in Notes Client get an actual OSD, continue working, and are improved continuously since that time.
I finally decided not to use hide-when formulas anymore in about documents, but simply remove the not needed items. This feature seem not to work for really counting on it in supporting and improving our application framework.
